Wanna see something really cool…Theresa has a new kit which is now available in the GDS store…it’s so much fun! The best part, you can get it free, yes free, IF, you participate in the Queen of the Crop Challenges tomorrow (Friday Feb 29)!!! The QOTC is a full day event, a series of challenges with a time limit, 2 hours each, and at the end, the Queens are chosen, or Queen…not sure really if there is one queen, or a joint reign really. I am hoping to do as many as I can tomorrow, but I shall be shuttling big boy to and from school and am babysitting a 7 month old!!! But I really want to do this! Ok, obviously I have the kit already, so my motivation is I want to be the QUEEN! Although I believe there will be another kit given away for free in the challenge as well, which would be nice to get, still…I WANT TO BE THE QUEEN!!!
So here is a peak at the kit, 2 pages I did with it…

Both using Theresa Borntreger’s new Something Artsy Kit
Note: the cake Layout was a scraplift of Nicole D at DSS for the February Scraplift Challenge

It’s happened, much sooner that I expected really, but I am on my way, I answered a call for a design assistant at digiscrapshak and I was invited to join the team. So basically it’s an internship of sorts, you are a designer in training, and then if you are good, you get promoted to official Designer. The unique thing about this site is, they allow their Design Assistants to sell right away, before the internship is over. This means you’ll be able to buy the kits I’ve been working on very soon! I’m so excited, I’ve been working feverishly the past month to get kits done, I wanted to have about 5 done before I applied anywhere. I’ve got 4 right now. Pretty close, and this came up and it was such a good opportunity, I went for it.
I will of course let you know the minute my store is ready with things for sale in it!
I’ve got something else exciting to share…but I have to wait till Monday.

Latest layout, a few pictures from last week’s trip home to Montreal. We went to visit my parents, the boys and I, and Nonno took us to the Biodome, an indoor zoo of sorts. It’s 4 different simulated eco-systems, including the rainforest where the camera would not stop fogging up so pictures did not turn out to well, and the Arctic, they have Penguins and Puffins, too cute!!!

Kit is Zoo Bound by Theresa Borntreger.

Is that a bad thing? Well not necesarily. There is a great article here on Scrapper’s Talk Radio about Scaplifting explaining what it is.
Do I scraplift, well of course, it’s hard not to be inspired by layouts you see along your daily travels. I get inspiration for layout from scapbooking magazines I get. I don’t copy, I pin point to thing I like the most and use that in my own creation. One of my favorite layouts to date, was a scraplift…you can see it here and you will notice, I credited where my inspiration came from.
The main thing is, scraplifting is not a bad thing as long as you credit where you got your inspiration from. That’s all, it just takes a simple comment in your credits, which you should be giving anyways to the designer of the kit. Credit the person you scraplifted and if possible link to the layout.
By the way, Scrapper’s Talk Radio is a podcast all about scrapbooking and it’s part of the Moms Talk Radio family of podcasts for moms. Be sure to check them out, there are some really fantastic programs for moms there.

This is a really fun new kit from Theresa Borntreger, so much fun to work with, it’s full of great elements and even though it’s a valentine’s kit, it is perfect for scrapping boy layouts as well as girl because of the colors available. It is also pretty versatile and does not have to be used for valentine’s themed layouts. Check out Lovey Dovey!
Here are a few I did with it. There is a brag book exchange going on at GDS as well if you want a full book of quick pages from this kit, get on over there and submit 1 and you’ll get all the pages submitted back!

Check out my gallery at GDS to see some of the QP’s I submitted and everything else I’ve done over there.
