Today Saturday spotlight is on boy kits, let’s face it, there just aren’t as many boyish kits as there are girlie kits, but some of us boy mommy designers are trying to put a small dent in that.
My contribution to this dilemma has been, the Urban Canyon Collection, Boy oh Boy, and the brand new Suburban Backyard.

There are a few other favorite boy kits around that I have my eye on…

and this one I have and it’s fun…

Today’s Saturday Spotlight is on the Challenges at SAS.
Stone Accent Studio’s designer’s host 17 different challenges each month and we’ve got some pretty neat one…like the ATC Challenge where you are challenged to create your own Artist Trading Card. Very cool. The Picasso Challenge inspires you to paint something and the Ad Challenge calls upon you to be inspired by the selected ad to create your layout. We’ve got the usual favorites as well, the lyrics, elements, and template challenges. And, a very popular Color Challenge where you can either make a layout with the color palette, or if the designer in you bites, create a mini kit to share. I host the ever popular Scraplift challenge which we call the Gallery Spotlight Challenge.
What do you get for doing these challenges??? It’s actually great because each designer creates a posting bonus, but we coordinate. We choose a color palette and theme and everyone designs their bonus based on that. So each challenge that you complete gets you that challenge’s mini kit…the more you do, the more pieces you get and in the end you could very well end up with a MEGA kit for free!!! And if you don’t complete them all, no worries, many of the mini kits go into the store once the month is done, into the Bargain bin for under $2.00 so you can easily complete your MEGA kit.
Come on over and join in on the challenges and get inspired!

What on earth am I talking about??? LOL I am a regular listener to Scrappers Talk Radio and a contributor to the site with a Techie Tuesday column featuring digital scrapbooking. Recently, Vera, host of Scrappers Talk Radio, interviewed Joanna Campbell Slan, author of Papers, Scissors, Death a mystery novel set for release in the fall. I’ve got to say, I’m pretty excited to read this book once it’s released, it sounds like fun. It’s not a how to scrapbook type of book, it’s a mystery novel who’s main character happens to be a scrapbooker and this helps her in solving the mystery of her husband’s untimely death. There are some tips worked in along the way as well. It sound interesting, I want to see how scrapbooking is used and incorporated into the story, and a good mystery with a mom scrapper as the main character sounds pretty up my alley!
You can listen to Vera’s interview with the author, it’s a 2 part interview and a lot of fun to listen to and you’ll get some great insight into the book and story.

This is a new feature on the blog, I’ll try my best to keep it up. Every Saturday there will be a spotlight on someone or some place or something. It will rotate, my CT members, awesome layouts, products, another designer, whatever I decide I want to put the spotlight on.
So I am starting with one of my awesome digiMamas, Melissa (everyone else has names for their CT’s and I don’t, that just popped into my head!) Melissa has been scrapping for about 3 years and went mostly digital about 1 1/2 years ago, that makes her a pro in this business!!! She is a married mom of a 3 year old, with an interesting collection of pets. Melissa has just taken over RAKing duties for me over at the DST Happy Place so be sure to stop in there regularily and see what’s being given away.
Some of my fav layouts by Melissa so far are…

using Ana Capri

using Urban Canyon Collection
