It’s coming..September is just a few days away and that means it’s time for a new desktop!!! My amazing CT member Melissa has graced us once again this month with a fabulous desktop. She used my Urban Canyon Collection for this one, one of my favorite kits thus far and hers as well.

September is a busy busy month…I want to give you all a sneak peek at the Divine Digital Download A Day kit, I partnered with Royanna Fritschmann and Chris Greiser to create FaLLing into an Autumn Haze, a wondeful autumn themed kit, with a little back to school thrown in there for good measure. Happy Friday!!! We’re headed away for the weekend to enjoy the last few nice weekend of the summer, before the leaves start falling and school starts, my big guy is starting Kindergarten soon!!!

Another day, another tag, will this ever end??? LOL My SAS-y buddy Candee from CanDesigns got me this time around.

I have to tell my bloggies (you) 7 things about me that you don’t already know. And I’m sure the people I tag have to do the same and so on, and so on, like that annoying commerical from when I was a kid.

1. With the Olympics and Gymnastics in the news I am reminded that way back when, I took gymnastics and dreamed of being in the Olympics someday. HA! Not even close.

2. I love flowers and have them all around, but I HATE weeding.

3. My first crush eventually became my first boyfriend…but he didn’t turn out to be such a nice guy.

4. The dining room in my house is the only room I feel is complete, everything else is a work in progress.

5. I’ve never been to Chucky Cheese with the kids, but am going today…ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so scared.

6. I like the smell of gasoline so I actually like filling up the tank, except when the price is over $4.00 a gallon of course.

7. I like romantic chick flicks. It’s sad I know, but I do.

Happy Wednesday, it’s the middle of the week and so far so good. Yesterday we had new carpet padding put down in our just recently finished basement playroom which then flooded and ruined everything. Well, not everything, just the padding, the carpet we manged to dry out and save at least. Phew the kids now have their playroom back and Mommy can get some things done again. I’ve got a freebie for you today, but first…let me tell you about an amazing contest that is going to begin very shortly as SAS.

It’s a layout design contest and runs for 4 weeks during the MEGA Birthday celebrations at SAS in September. But, you have to sign up before then to be able to participate. Each week will bring a new challenge which involves receiving constructive comments to improve your layout design skills. Four weeks, four challenges and TONS of prizes for all and one very big prize for the lucky winner, we’re talking HUGE!!! But I am not going to tell you about it…go check it out to find out more…

We’re talking major prizes here folks, being designed specifically for this mega challenge!!! It’s going to be fun!!! Seriously, go sign up now!!!

And now on to what most of you came for…the freebie, it’s a yummy one, wanted to make it a good one so you would all be nice and sign up for the contest. Kidding…well, not really. LOL

My first attempt at WordArt, but I am calling it BoyArt since it’s all about the little guys in our lives, of which I have two. Fun boyish words in a crackled painted metal finsh. This is a sampling of a more jam packed version for my shoppes.

Suburban Backyard Layout Share

Just stopping in quick to share a couple of layouts from my new kit Suburban Backyard…it’s a fun one!

This is one I did of my dad and my oldest son walking in the park. The font was the Blue Cabin from www.kevinandamanda.com and the tint I used on the photo is called “Brownie” done with Virtual Photographer, a Phtotoshop plugin I LOVE! It’s free just google it.

And the next one is by my CT member Shari and I just love the design on this, the way the papers are stacked, the page border, and all the greenery hidden behind it peeking out. You can see credits here.

Spotlight on Boy Kits

Today Saturday spotlight is on boy kits, let’s face it, there just aren’t as many boyish kits as there are girlie kits, but some of us boy mommy designers are trying to put a small dent in that.

My contribution to this dilemma has been, the Urban Canyon Collection, Boy oh Boy, and the brand new Suburban Backyard.

Welcome to our Suburban Backyard, a place to park your bike, play with the dog, and chase butterflies. Stop and tie your shoelaces under a tree. Blues,greens, and browns in muted tones and grungy patterns with rough cardboard and denim textures. This was totally inspired by my boys who love to play in our suburban backyard and always manage to come in looking like they were playing in a muddy junkyard field somehow. How do they do that???

Who will be the Next SAS-y Lady? We’re having a Designer contest as Stone Accents Studio to find our next Designer, aka SAS-y Lady. The entire month of September, the SAS birthday month we’ll be running fun challenges and all sorts of things, there will be TONS of freebies as well. Be sure to check in often.
